Privacy policy

GreenTechPlus.com (“GreenTechPlus,” “we,” “us”) is operated by ZGMB Solutions LLC. This policy explains what we collect when you use greentechplus.com, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we can.
The short version
- We don’t run advertising or analytics trackers, and we don’t sell or share your personal information for advertising.
- If you sign up, we keep your email address and your daily-email choice. You can delete your account at any time.
- Our deal statistics are anonymous: daily view totals per deal, and click logs without your email or IP address.
- Messages you send through our contact form go to our help desk so we can reply.
- When you click through to a store, you leave our site. The store and its affiliate network have their own privacy policies.
Information we collect
When you visit
Like any website, our servers and our hosting provider’s network receive your IP address, your browser type and the page you ask for. We use this to deliver pages and to keep the site secure, for example to block abuse and bots. It’s kept in short-lived server logs. We don’t use analytics or advertising scripts.
Deal views and clicks
We count how many times each deal page is viewed, as one daily total per deal, with nothing about who viewed it. When you click through to a store, we log which deal, where on our site the click came from, and when. Click logs contain no email address and no IP address. If you’re signed in, the log also holds a scrambled, one-way code made from your member number so we can count member clicks. It can’t be turned back into your email. Visits from our own staff and from known bots aren’t counted, and we only count visits from browsers set to a US time zone. Our page checks your browser’s time zone and sends us only a yes or no, never the time zone itself.
When you sign up or sign in
- Your email address.
- Whether you want the daily deals email, and when and where you agreed.
- Sign-in codes and links, stored only as one-way hashes. They expire after 10 minutes and are deleted within an hour.
- To stop abuse, we briefly count sign-in and unsubscribe attempts per IP address and per email address. These counters are scrambled and expire within an hour.
We don’t ask for a password, your name, your home address or any payment details.
When you contact us
The contact form collects your name, email address, topic and message, and a deal link if you add one. It also sends the page you wrote from, the time you agreed to us handling your request, and your IP address and browser type to help us block spam. Your message goes to our help desk at help.zgmbsolutions.com, which ZGMB Solutions LLC runs. The help desk creates a ticket and emails you its number. If the help desk can’t be reached, your message is emailed to our support mailbox instead. We may use a spam-filtering service, such as Akismet by Automattic, to screen messages.
If you ask to be unsubscribed on our Support & FAQ page, we email you a confirmation and tell our support team the result.
How we use it
- To sign you in and show member-only prices and codes.
- To send the emails you asked for: sign-in codes, the daily deals email if you opted in, and confirmations.
- To answer your messages.
- To keep the site secure and working, and to prevent abuse and spam.
- To learn which deals and stores readers find useful, using the anonymous counts above.
- To meet our legal obligations.
Every marketing email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link.
Cookies
We only use cookies the site needs to work, such as the ones that keep you signed in for up to 30 days. Our hosting provider may also set a short-lived security cookie to check that visitors aren’t bots. We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies.
Affiliate links and third parties
GreenTechPlus is free because stores may pay us a commission when you buy through our links. When you click a deal, you leave our site for the store’s site, sometimes passing through an affiliate network such as Amazon Associates. Those companies set and read their own cookies to credit us for the referral.
Third parties, including Amazon and other stores and advertisers, may serve content on or through our site, collect information directly from visitors, and place or recognize cookies on visitors’ browsers. Some Amazon product images load straight from Amazon’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser details as part of the image request.
What happens on a store’s or network’s website is covered by their privacy policy, not ours. As an Amazon Associate, GreenTechPlus earns from qualifying purchases.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the site:
- Our hosting provider, Hostinger, for servers, network and email delivery.
- Our help desk, run by ZGMB Solutions LLC, for contact-form messages.
- A spam-filtering service, if we use one, for contact-form messages.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case the new owner keeps the protections in this policy. We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
How long we keep it
- Your account (email and preferences): until you delete it or ask us to. Unsubscribing from the daily email stops the emails but keeps your account so you can still sign in. Delete the account to remove it.
- Sign-in sessions: they expire after 30 days without use.
- Sign-in codes and abuse counters: deleted within an hour.
- Help desk tickets: as long as we need them to handle your request and keep accurate business records.
- Anonymous deal statistics: kept, because they contain no personal information.
- Server logs and backups: kept for limited periods by our hosting provider and overwritten on a rolling basis.
Your choices and rights
- Stop the daily email: click unsubscribe in any email, change it in Your settings, or ask on our Support & FAQ page.
- Delete your account: sign in and open Your settings. Deleting removes your email address and preferences right away.
- See, correct or delete your information: send a request through our Contact us form (topic: Privacy) or email basecamp.gtp@greentechplus.com. We’ll confirm the request comes from you, usually by replying to your email address, and answer within 30 days, or sooner if the law requires.
Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other US states, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, delete it, and opt out of its sale or its use for targeted advertising. We don’t sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising, but you can still make any of these requests, yourself or through an authorized agent. We won’t treat you differently for using these rights. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a request to opt out of sale and sharing. If we turn down a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer, and if you’re still not satisfied you can contact your state attorney general.
Outside the US: GreenTechPlus is built for US shoppers and US stores. If you use it from elsewhere, your information is processed in the United States and in other countries where our providers operate. Where laws such as the GDPR apply, we rely on your consent for marketing emails, on providing the service you asked for to sign you in, and on our legitimate interests for security and anonymous statistics. You can withdraw your consent at any time, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
GreenTechPlus isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Security
We use HTTPS across the whole site, store sign-in codes and session tokens only as one-way hashes, encrypt stored service keys, and limit who on our team can see personal information. No way of storing or sending information is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll also post a notice on the site or email signed-up members before it takes effect.
